Description
Remains of one of the oldest Benedictine abbeys in Thiérache, founded in 764, only the gardens and waterworks created by the monks of Liessies Abbey have stood the test of time. In this 48-hectare haven of peace, you can wander through a succession of natural environments, from wet meadows to the woodlands of the first Ardennes counter-forts, and from ponds surrounded by reed beds to century-old orchards. Don't forget to look up: this site is a stopover for white and black storks!
